Stat of the Week
In FY25, Veteran & Military Services supported 551 military-connected students. They received over $1.7 million in direct tuition funding from the VA, and over $2 million was waived for students through the Hazlewood exemption. Thank you to Erin Justyna for this stat!

Kate Panasci was accepted as a Distinguished Fellow in the National Academies of Practice - Physical Therapy Program
Dr. Gerard E. Carrino will be inducted into the National Academies of Practice as a Distinguished Fellow of the Public Health Academy
Dr. C. Patrick Reynolds, director of the SOM Pediatric Cancer Research Center, will be inducted into the National Academy of Inventors’ 2025 Class of Fellows
SON recognized the 10th anniversary of the Veteran to Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in December
Dr. Osaid Alser, Chief Resident in the Department of Surgery, received the Texas Surgical Society 2025 Raleigh Ross Scholar award for excellence in patient care, scholarly activity, and leadership
