Dr. Andrea (Andi) Tenner is an Associate Professor in the UCSF Department of Emergency Medicine and Co
-Director for the UCSF World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Emergency and Trauma
Care. She has broad experience in developing emergency care capacity and disaster mitigation, including
work in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo as well as Sierra Leone during the first major Ebola outbreak
in 2014-2015. Subsequently, her work has focused on emergency care systems development and she has
supported the work of the WHO to develop an Emergency Care Systems Toolkit and served as an editor for
the WHO Basic Emergency Care Course.
Dr. Tenner will speak in depth about lessons learned from the first major Ebola outbreak in West Africa, discuss her experience working in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and elaborate on the implications
